With the right selection of inserts and tool movement control, it's even possible to eliminate the need for honing altogether. Our innovative design places a variety of cutting inserts into contact with your work piece at just the right time and speed. You can rough-cut on the entry stroke, and finish bore on the exit stroke. Additional features allow you to apply relief or chamfer features to the bore entry upon completion of the entry stroke.

Lightweight and thin-walled work pieces can often exhibit distortion while being held in place during machining operations. This distortion results in machined profiles which match specifications just fine…until the work piece is removed from its holding fixture. That's because the high clamping loads of the fixture can distort the pre-machined size and shape of the work piece. One common result of this distortion is a finished profile with a "waisted" or "hourglass" shape.
